Two levels will be offered, level A (typically for professional and collegiate dancers) and level B (typically dancers pre-college or with less experience). If you are unsure of which level you fit into, please feel free to email email@example.com with questions!

Join DAMAGEDANCE Artistic Director, Artistic Staff and Company Members in this six-day intensive full of well-rounded curriculum in technique and artistry as well as a culminating performance opportunity! Classes include modern/ballet technique, contemporary partnering, improvisation/composition, floorwork, self-care, yoga, Pilates, DAMAGEDANCE Repertory and more. The week will culminate with a showcase of company and student performances open to the public. Drop in classes available for the professional level only.

Company auditions will be held on July 16th, just following the summer intensive. We highly encourage interested professional dancers to attend the summer intensive.
Tuition - $500
We are pleased to offer one Pre-Professional Student the Frank D. Taylor Scholarship for Work Ethic (registration and essay required, due no later then April 1st), and one student from either level a full scholarship based on financial need and merit (registration and statement required, due no later then April 1st). We are also pleased to offer one work study position for one student who would receive 50% off tuition in exchange for studio cleaning and paperwork organization for intensive and audition registration (registration and statement required, due no later then April 1st). Shelly Clements | DAMAGEDANCE Director of Youth Programs/SPEC Artistic Director
Shelly Chapple Clements is from rural Western Pennsylvania and received a scholarship to Pittsburgh Ballet Theater at the age of 9. During the summers she trained at Eglevsky Ballet and The American Dance Machine in New York. By the time she was 14, she was living in ChampagneUrbana, IL at the National Academy of Arts directed by The Royal Ballet’s Petrus Bosman. At 16 she moved back to Pittsburgh to attend the renowned and exemplary Pittsburgh High School for Creative and Performing Arts where she was one of 32 members of the 2nd graduating class. After graduating salutatorian from CAPA, Ms. Clements moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and began her professional career as a performer and master instructor. She taught in such notable schools as Contra Costa Ballet, Shan Yee Poon Ballet, Rhythm and Motion, and San Francisco Dance Center, now Alonzo King LINES Dance Center. Ms. Clements trained at ODC San Francisco with Brenda Way and Lines Contemporary Ballet with Alonzo King and Arturo Fernandez and performed with ODC, Capacitor, Joan Lazarus, Patricia Jiron, and more. Since 1990, Ms. Clements has been an integral part of John Butterfield’s New Urban Dance Company as a featured dancer, choreographer, ballet mistress, and assistant director. She is a graduate and was an adjunct dance faculty member of Colorado Mesa University holding Bachelor degrees in Hispanic Literature, Interpretation and Translation, and Dance/Theater. Ms. Clements has become a renowned dance instructor across the Front Rangeand the Western slope of Colorado since she relocated in 2001. She is, as well, a Spanish teacher for Jefferson County and Adams 12 Five Star school districts.
Erin Giordano | DAMAGEDANCE Dancer
Raised in Scottsdale, Arizona, Erin Giordano began her dance training at local studios and went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from Arizona State University with a BFA in Dance and a minor in Nutrition and Healthy Living. Erin also danced for two seasons in the Phoenix-based contemporary jazz company, MarioCo.Dance, before making the move cross-country. Erin has had the opportunity to further expand her artistry at multiple summer intensives including Alonzo King Lines Ballet, The Alvin Ailey School, San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, Parsons Dance, Giordano Dance, and Houston METdance. Now settled in New York, she has had the opportunity to work with choreographers including Diane McCarthy, Meggie Pinones, Jessica Gaynor, and Jessica Taylor, performing at venues such as Westbeth Artists' Residence, Manhattan Movement and Arts Center, Gibney Dance, The Drilling Company Theatre, 92nd St. Y, Jennifer Muller/The Works, Peridance, DANY Studios, and New York City Center Studios. This is Erin's second season with DAMAGEDANCE.
Joseph Hernandez | DAMAGEDANCE Dancer
Joseph Hernandez grew up in Chicago, Illinois, where he was first introduced to dance in high school. He continued his education at Western Michigan University, where he graduated cum laude with a BFA in Dance. In addition to his degree, he also trained with Alonzo King LINES Ballet, The San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, Luna Negra Dance Theater, River North Dance Chicago, and the original Gus Giordano Dance School. While still in college, Joseph had the opportunities to perform with River North Dance Chicago as an apprentice, as well as Wellspring/Cori Terry & Dancers as a guest artist.
Upon graduation, Joseph joined ODC/Dance in San Francisco where he danced for two seasons, touring nationally and internationally. He guested with Kate Weare Company from 2014-2015, having the opportunity to perform in their tenth anniversary season at BAM. Additional professional credits include Dušan Týnek Dance Theatre in New York, Opera Parallèle and Concept o4 in San Francisco, and the Denver based DAMAGEDANCE. Over the years, he has had the privilege of dancing works by Gerald Arpino, Kim Brandstrup, Alex Ketley, KT Nelson, David Parsons, Kate Weare, and Robyn Mineko Williams among others.
As an educator, Joseph has taught at numerous dance studios, intensives, and master classes throughout the United States. His teachings emphasize individuality, technical exploration, and anatomical awareness, promoting body longevity and healthy training habits. He teaches contemporary, jazz, hip hop, ballet, and modern techniques. He also choreographs for professional and pre-professional companies, as well as group and solo works for competitions. Joseph presently dances with The Metropolitan Opera Ballet in New York City.
Jessica Taylor | DAMAGEDANCE Artistic Director
Jessica Taylor received her degree in dance from Point Park University Dance Conservatory in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She has taught at many different organizations across the US, including the Colorado Conservatory of Dance, Brooklyn Urban Garden Charter School (BUGS), Absolute Dance Grand Junction, Center of Creative Arts (St. Louis) and UpBring Dance Company (Brooklyn). She has choreographed for the Pittsburgh Playhouse Dance Company of Point Park University, SUNY Purchase BFA (Senior Solo), COCAdance Pre-professional Company (and its alumni), Absolute Dance Grand Junction, Squonk Opera, Purple Threads Emsemble, Ormao Dance Senior Company, The Big Muddy Dance Company, Ailey/Fordham BFA (Senior Solo) and the advanced students of Denver School of the Arts.
Taylor has served as a member of the industry panel and as a choreographer for ADC’s Guest Artist Series in NYC for five years, and has held workshops with the DAMAGEDANCE mission in mind at DANY Studios, Peridance Capezio Center, the Amalgamate Dance Company Summer Workshop, the former Dance New Amsterdam. Gibney Dance, the Center of Creative Arts, the Dance Fusion Intensive, Ormao Dance School, Block 1750, Colorado Collge, Steamboat Dance Theatre, Colorado Mesa University, Denver School of the Arts, Arts Immersion (Denver), University of New Mexico, Chandler Gilbert Community College (AZ) and New Mexico Dance Academy. Taylor is a partner in the development of the recently launched program, BREAK OUT, a two-week residency intensive bringing American dancers to Italy through a partnership between DAMAGEDANCE, Amalgamate Dance Company, Scuola Italia and Passi di Danza.
Sarah Zielinski | DAMAGEDANCE Dancer
Sarah, originally from Pittsburgh, PA is now based in NYC as a performer, choreographer, and dance/pilates instructor. She is currently a fifth year company member of DAMAGEDANCE, an apprentice with ZviDance, and the Development Director of Awakening Movement. Past credits include: Les Troyen at The Metropolitan Opera choreographed by Doug Varone, The Wizard Of Oz National Tour, and regional theatre performances Of West Side Story (Anybodys), Mary Poppins (Featured Dancer), Thoroughly Modern Millie (Ensemble/Assistant Choreographer), znd Starlight Express (Dance Captain/Swing) at Tuacahn Amphitheater. She has also danced for Mariangela Lopez at Gidney's 25th Anniversay GRIT Performance, Lorena Egan, the Sydney Schiff Dance Project at the NYC Fringe Festival, and Cale Teicher & Company.
She has been Assistant Choreographer to Jeffry Denman in Tuacahn's Thoroughly Modern Millie, Al Blackstone for the 2014 Capezio Fashion Show, and Michael Mindlin. She has also assisted Kiesha Lalama in the Gene Kelly Awards, CLO Academy’s Mini Stars and How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying. Sarah’s personal choreography credits include the 2012 Wells Fargo Blumey Awards in Charlotte, NC. along with Oklahoma!, My Favorite Year, The Wedding Singer, 42nd Street for Carlynton High School in the Pittsburgh area and Titanic At Stage 62 Theatre.
She attended Point Park University where she graduated Summa Cum-Laude, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, and was awarded the Academic Excellence Honor for the class. While at Point Park she had the privilege of working with Robert Battle, Francesca Harper, Ann Reinking, Kiesha Lalama, Doug Bentz, Jason McDole, Luke Murphy, Josh Manculich, Danielle Pavlik and H2O. During summers off from school, Sarah attended intensives with Lar Lubovitch, Doug Varone, and Parsons, completed Broadway Dance Center's Summer Internship, and was a scholarship recipient for Josh Bergasses' Musical Theatre Performance Project.
